Brandon McMahon
Set Manager

As far as the production team is concerned, Letters from the Front is a three character play.  The first two characters are Katharine and Johnny.  The third character is the set.   In a time when minimalism has become the norm in set design, the full scale, intricately detailed set of Letters from the Front is a pleasant surprise for our audiences, who often comment on how realistic the set is, and how they feel as if they've been invited into Katharine's very cozy Connecticut home.  Maintaining this illusion is the responsibility of Set Manager Brandon McMahon.

Because Letters from the Front is a show that plays in every imaginable venue, from aircraft hangers to grand opera houses, the set is constructed as a series of collapsable units that open up much like a child's pop-up book. Brandon helped build the set and consequently knows precisely how to make it fill any size stage, then pack it up so that it will fit on the truck.

Brandon apprenticed as a carpenter for a number of construction companies before starting work in our scene shop. In 2004 he toured as Production Assistant then was promoted to Production Gaffer for the 2005 Tour, and promoted again to Set Manager starting with the 2006 Tour. He is a graduate of famed T. C. Williams High School (Remember the Titans) in Alexandria, VA and now makes his home in Northern Virginia.
