Starring as
Johnny Chastain
(2005 National Tour)
Playing Johnny Chastain in Letters from the Front is not for the faint of heart. His "take no prisoners" attitude toward his work, his raucous acrobatic theatrics, and his irreverent sense of humor are tempered by his desperate need for Katharine's love and approval. The result is a complex character that requires highly developed thespian and athletic skills. The first requirement when auditioning for Johnny is that the actor must have a personality that fills up the room. David Joseph Regelmann did just that, then went on to impress us with his comic and dramatic abilities.
Originally hailing from Minneapolis and currently living in New York City, David Regelmann has performed in productions across the country. His experiences include a season with the Children's Theatre Company in Minneapolis, a tour with Chamber Theatre Productions, a summer with the Texas Shakespeare Festival, and several runs of off-Broadway plays.
Most recently David appeared in New York City as Malvolio in the Bard Hall Player's production of "Twelfth Night." Among his film and television appearances, David has performed in a reenactment on "America's Most Wanted," and in the film "She's So Lame."
David is proud to be a part of Letters from the Front and to take his place among the many fine actors who have brought Johnny Chastain so vividly to life. He thanks his family for its endless support.
