If your installation is a training base you will want to organize one or more troop shows

Why?

In the words of Base Commanders and DI's alike, LETERS FROM THE FRONT adds an extra level of completeness to the training program, providing young troops with the "big picture" of what it means to serve their country, and of the sacrifices and commitments made by those who went before them.

Troop shows are defined as performances scheduled solely to accomodate training companies marched or bussed to the venue under supervision of their respective DI's.

DI's usually prefer daytime shows scheduled somewhere between 12:00 & 15:00 depending on training activities. Earlier shows are possible, but should not be scheduled earlier than 10:00 because of preshow prep time. If an evening show (19:00) is scheduled the same day, the latest the afternoon performance can be scheduled is 14:00.

Because most show venues have limited facilities, troops should be allowed to use latrines before attending the show.

Since troops are usually brought into the venue in mass (sometimes 1000 or more) careful consideration should be given to whether pre-show refreshments are to be made available, and if so, how to serve them quickly to large numbers so as not to delay the start of the performance and thus interfere with other scheduled training activities.
