Patrick Dizney is invariably the most popular member of every theatrical troupe he's associated with.  Why?  Because in addition to his bountiful acting skills and his cheerful, upbeat personality, he is also a licensed massage therapist.  So when his fellow actors groan at his work -- it's a good thing.   Especially if he's working on them.  Patrick is also an accomplished carpenter and athlete -- if anybody cares.  Usually it's "I've got this crick in my neck . . ."

Oregon was Patrick's playground while growing up, a place where he learned to love and appreciate the great outdoors through sports and adventure.  Upon returning to college after traveling the globe and learning a few trades, he discovered the wonders that theatre held for him.  He earned a BA in Theatre Arts at Eastern Oregon University, then a MFA at the University of Washington.

"I can't imagine my life without acting," Patrick says.  "It's a constant state of learning, stretching your abilities, experiencing the joys, as well as the pits of life, and feeling connected to the human race."

Patrick has appeared in independent films, soap operas, and on the stage in New York, Texas, Seattle, San Diego, Phoenix, and Portland -- to name a few.  Favorite roles include "Julius Caesar," Bottom in "Midsummer Night's Dream," and Joe Pitt in "Angels in America."

For the 10th anniversary tour of Letters from the Front: WWII, Patrick brought to life the exasperatingly lovable character of Johnny Chastain.  "Johnny is the very definition of showmanship," says Director Della Cole.  "He fills up a room and sucks up most of the oxygen in it.   He's loaded with charisma, is always cracking wise, always smoozing.  You love him, but at the same time you want to smack him.  It takes a very skilled actor to pull this off, and when Marsha (Producer Marsha Roberts) and I saw Patrick audition, we knew he was our Johnny."

Patrick makes his home in the Big Apple and considers his son Derek to be his greatest achievement.
