2005 Tour
From the Pentagon to Katrina

Although we've always made sure that Letters From the Front lived up to its "Broadway quality" reputation, it was clear that after nearly a decade and a half of touring, the set, decorations, and technical gear were showing signs of fatigue. In addition, since 9/11 America's military installations

have undergone major changes and some of these changes affected the way we have traditionally promoted and staged our show, as well as the facilities that were available to us. As a result we spent many months overhauling Letters From the Front to make it more compatible with current operations. Chief among these was a completely redesigned and re-engineered set that can be set up and taken down much faster while using less personnel. Because of the time required to make these changes, 2005 was an abbreviated, whirlwind tour that ended scant hours and miles ahead of the nation's most catastrophic hurricane.  Our last performance was at Ft. Polk, LA and we left the morning before Katrina hit.  But it was also an historic tour in that our show was the first professional play production ever performed at the Pentagon.  We are proud to have been honored with this distinction.
