2002 Tour

New Home -- Expanded Facilities -- Broader Horizons

Moving the LFTF operations from Atlanta, where the show originated, to the Washington, DC area had been a dream of Producer Marsha Roberts and Playwright/Director Robert Rector for several years.  The dream became reality in mid-2001 and the new company headquarters, which houses a full size rehearsal stage, dressing rooms, scene shop, prop & costume storage, as well as administrative offices, was ready to go by the time rehearsals started for the 2002 Tour.  The D.C. facility also houses our ever expanding Internet and video production operations.

Why the need for expanded facilities?  "Letters From the Front evolved from our film services company Phoenix Pictures," explains Rector. "As the project grew it spread out into a number of facilities scattered around town until it reached an unweildy state. When we made the decision to move to the DC area, we decided it was time to bring everything together under one roof, with a little extra room to expand."

Demand for Letters From the Front's upbeat, patriotic and life-affirming message steadily increases -- especially after the events of Sept. 11, 2001.  We are determined to meet those demands with a bigger, better and more powerfully engaging production that will be accessible not only to military communities, but to the general public as well.
